What a matchup! This Chiefs Playing in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years. You know the names by now: Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid. They already are Among the all-time greats on their respective roles, and this season has proven that they aren’t going to slow down anytime soon.

While the offense may have big names, it’s the defense that has been the better unit this season (so far). Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnolo Having earned the adoration of his players, J Wore “In Spags We Trust” shirts After killing the crow in the AFC Championship. This Spagnuolo may be the best defense, and that’s saying something considering he has three Super Bowl-winning units. So, know Chris Jones, Trent McDuffie, L’Jarius Snead And plenty of others, too.

This 49ersMeanwhile, it’s back to the big game for the first time since 2020 When they lost to the … Chiefs. History tells the Super Bowl The rematch is even better than the first meeting, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true again. Like Kansas City, San Francisco has plenty of holdovers from that meeting, including George Kittle, Nick Bosa, Trent Williams, Fred Warner And the coach Kyle Shanahan.

But there are two main names were not On that team: Brock Purdy And Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey joined San Francisco last season; Now, he has A chance to become the first top player in the league to win a Super Bowl this millennium. Purdy, meanwhile, arrived months early with much less fanfare — as the last pick (“Mr. Relevant”) in the 2022 draft — to begin his career as a third-stringer. A year and a half later, he would start the Super Bowl with a chance to lead the Niners to a ring. I’m not a betting man myself, but my NFL buddies came to the rescue Props Guide as well 58(!!!) bets for Super Bowl 58. Here are five of my favorites, including one by a long shot:

  • Jared Dubin: 49ers to win first half, Chiefs to win game (+525, Caesars). “The Chiefs have not led at halftime in any of their three Super Bowl appearances in this era (they were tied with the Niners and both teams trailed. the buccaneers And the eagle), so if you think the Chiefs will win, this is a better price than just taking the money line.”
  • Team to Score Last to Win Game: Yes (-245, FanDuel). “Not a profitable number, but this prop has been a hit in 10 straight Super Bowls and 17 of the last 18.”
  • Total Points of 49 Players: Under 24.5 (-125, Caesar). “The Chiefs have allowed just 16.8 points per game this season. Only one team (PackersWeek 13) scored 25 or more points against this defense all year.”
  • Today was a fairytale: Kelce scores a TD and the Chiefs win (+240, DraftKings). “Kels has scored a touchdown in eight of the last nine playoff games. If you have the Chiefs winning, this is a good bet.”
  • Debo Samuel to score one rushing and one receiving touchdown: Yes (+3000, FanDual). “Samuel hit this prop twice in the regular season.”

🔥 So… who will win the Super Bowl?

Oh, thanks for asking! I told you on Friday I’ll take it up to kickoff to share my picks. But for you, I will delay no longer.

Can be purdy One of the most unlikely Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks of all time. Mahomes can continue His march to GOAT status. I trust Mahomes a little more. I have a little more faith in Kansas City’s defense. I have a little more faith in the defending champs’ special teams. At the end of the day, I have to go with what I trust. Harrison Butker As time runs out one knocks — Chiefs 23, 49ers 20.
