Boston Celtics fans breathed a sigh of relief after Kristaps Porzingis’ back injury update

Kristaps Porzingis assured Boston Celtics fans that his most recent injury was nothing serious and nothing to worry about. The basketball community should know that the Celtics acquired Porzingis along with Jrue Holiday this NBA offseason to improve their chances of contending for a championship.

So far, the Celtics are building team chemistry and getting along well. In fact, they are the best team in the NBA right now with a record of 41 wins and 12 losses. However, Porzingis’ consistency and health continue to worry fans.

Kristaps Porzingis was once again injured in the match against the Miami Heat

Some fans may remember that Kristaps hurt himself in a game against the Miami Heat a few weeks ago. He landed on Bam Adebayo’s feet and twisted his ankle. As a result, he missed the next 3 games while rehabilitating and recovering from his ankle injury.

During their most recent matchup against the Miami Heat, Porzingis suffered another injury, injuring his lower back while trying to secure a rebound. In this case, he was able to return to the court and finished the night with 25 points and 9 rebounds. After the game ended, Kristaps addressed his injury.

“My back is fine. I got a little (one) bump from the balm on the rebound, (but) nothing serious. (I) went back (to) make sure it was good, warmed up again and everything was good.

While it’s certainly reassuring to hear that nothing serious has happened to Porzingis, his inability to stay relatively healthy for the Celtics this season could hinder their chances of winning a title come the postseason.

Porzingis has had a troubling injury history since joining the Boston Celtics

In all fairness, Porzingis was already considered an injury-prone player before joining the Celtics. However, it cannot be denied that he suffered a number of injuries during his first season as a member of the Boston Celtics. KP has injured his ankle, knee, calf, ribs and even his eye half way through the NBA season.

As a result, Porzingis has played in just 39 of 53 total games for the Boston Celtics. However, he has been a very impressive player when he is on the court and has averaged 20.4 points, 7 rebounds and 1.9 assists this season.

Compared to their teammates, Joe Holiday, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have played 48, 49 and 50 games respectively. While Kristaps is not expected to miss time due to his recent injury, Celtics fans are hopeful that he can stay healthy and help their team win the NBA Championship this season.
