‘Coco’ Star Ana Ofelia Murguia, Who Received the Golden Ariel Award, Dies at 90

MEXICO: Famous Mexican actress Ana Ofelia Murguia, well known for playing the iconic character Mama Coco in the 2017 Disney animated film ‘Coco’, has died at the age of 90, according to the Daily Mail. The exact cause of his death has not yet been revealed.

It was reported by the media that the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL) announced the sad news of the death of the beloved voice actress on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday 31 December 2023.

NIFA released an official statement which roughly translates to: “With deep sadness, we regret the sensitive passing of lead actress Ana Ofelia Murguia, who was part of the stable cast of #INBAL’s @CNTeatromx and whose artistic career was vital to the show. doctor from Mexico.

The organization added: “We send him our condolences and affectionate hugs to his family and friends.”
