Every single person who voted for me. Thank you. My better half, who picked me up when I was drained from this job. Thank you.

In a moment of empowerment, the Emmy winner acknowledged herself, saying, “I want to thank myself for believing in myself and doing what they said I couldn’t do.” I want to say to myself in front of all of you beautiful people: “Come on, my daughter, with your bad self. You did that.’ Finally, I accept this award on behalf of all black and brown women who have not been heard, yet are overly scrutinized, like Glenda Cleveland, like Sandra Bland, like Breonna Taylor!”

This is Nash-Bett’s first Emmy win.

Soon after, fans were delighted with Niecy’s beautiful speech.
