How did Whitney Thore lose 100 pounds? The “My Big Fat Fabulous Life” star’s transformation is sparking rumors

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whitney Way Thore, star of ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’, recently shared her journey to lose 100 pounds, which sparked various rumors about how she achieved this transformation. Whitney explained that her weight loss was a gradual process over several years. Starting at 385 pounds in 2015, she lost 50 pounds by 2018. After her mother became ill and passed away, she lost another 50 pounds, bringing her weight down to 285 pounds, a weight she maintained for about a year.

Addressing speculation about medical interventions, Whitney stated, “No, I didn’t have a medical intervention to lose weight.” She emphasized that her weight loss was not due to any drastic measures, such as surgery or medications such as Ozempic. Significant life events, especially the illness and death of her mother, contributed to her weight loss. Whitney explained, “When my mom got sick and finally died, I lost 50 more pounds.”

Despite comments suggesting she looked slimmer, Whitney emphasized that her weight had stayed the same for about a year. She responded to followers on Instagram who noticed changes in her appearance, saying, “I weigh exactly like I did in Switzerland and nobody was afraid then.” I’m still very fat,” she said, “Thanks for the compliments, but I really don’t like obsessing over my body and I don’t like it when others do either.”

“My Big Fat Fabulous Life” star Whitney Thore gained weight due to PCOS

Whitney Thore, star of ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life,’ gained weight mainly due to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that affects many women. PCOS makes it difficult to lose weight and easy to gain it, which significantly affected Whitney’s health and appearance.

She initially weighed 114 pounds at the start of high school, but by the end of her freshman year of college, she had gained 100 pounds and continued to gain more weight over the years. This drastic weight loss caused Whitney to become depressed, causing her to stop dancing for a period. However, her passion for dance was rekindled when she moved back home with her parents, and her viral video “A Fat Girl Dancing” launched her into the public eye as a body positive advocate.

“My Big Fat Fabulous Life” star Whitney Thore froze her eggs

Whitney Thore made the decision to freeze her eggs two years ago. She was concerned about her ability to have children and wanted to preserve her fertility options. Whitney explained that she felt pressure knowing her chance to have children could be taken away, so freezing her eggs helped relieve some of that stress. However, she recently shared that she may not end up being a parent.

“I’m really sad about the fact that I just don’t think it’s in the cards for me,” Whitney said. She’s always hoped to have a child with a partner, but with her love life not going well and her 40th birthday approaching, she’s starting to accept that it might not happen. Despite this, Whitney remains open to whatever the future holds, although she admits it’s hard to come to terms with the idea that having children might not be a part of her life.
