Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks to feature in the National Football League (NFL) right now. The Kansas City Chiefs man already has two Super Bowls under his belt and looks set to add to that tally. And much of the credit for this sporting success must go to his father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who was also an elite athlete. Patrick Levon Mahomes, better known as Patrick Mahomes Sr., is a former baseball pitcher who played in the MLB (Major League Baseball) from 1992-2003. He has appeared for teams such as the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates.

He has a 42–39 win-loss record with an earned run average of 5.47 with 452 strikeouts to his name. In addition to MLB, he also featured in Nippon Professional Baseball in 1997 and 1998. He played for the Yokohama Baystars.

Most of his career earnings have come from MLB and he has earned most of his earnings through playing salaries. According to reports, Patrick Mahomes Sr. has a net worth of $10 million. He earned approximately $3 million in salary earnings during his MLB career. In his first year, his contract was $109,000. During his peak time, he earned $750,000 per season.

In 2022, when Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts advanced to Super Bowl LVII, they were making history before they even stepped on the field. It was the first time in a Super Bowl that there would be two black starting quarterbacks. And needless to say, father Mahomes Sr. was very proud of this feat.

“I’m a big football fan, always have been,” Mahomes Sr. said. And I remember Doug Williams when he won the Super Bowl. I remember some of the other black quarterbacks β€” Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb and all those guys β€” and how hard it was to get a chance to play their position.”

He further added, β€œAnd for Patrick and Jalen to be part of the first two to play in the Super Bowl shows how far we’ve come. And I’m very happy that Mahomes will be one of them. And that makes me very proud.”

He was inducted into the Sioux Falls Cannery Hall of Fame in 2019. Patrick Mahomes Sr. currently has a podcast known as ‘.The Big Mahomes Show.The show started in November 2021.

Days before Patrick’s Super Bowl LVIII game, Mahomes Sr. was arrested for an alleged DWI. On February 2, 2024, the 53-year-old was arrested by police in Texas after allegedly driving after drinking a 16-ounce beer. But that wasn’t the only time he ran into trouble with the law.
