Brennan explained, “She says something to me, and then she says, ‘Oh, I don’t know why I was nervous to tell you that. You reacted hugely.'”

He continued: “And we get into this thing, and she tells you, ‘Oh, I’m just nervous about telling him things, I’m worried about how he’s going to react.'”

However, Emily intervened and told Brennan that what he was saying was “the same thing”, leading Dr. Pia to wonder if Brennan was just being defensive.

He defended himself: “I think that when someone attacks you in an unfair way, you have the right to defend yourself.”

He then noted that he never had difficulty chatting with friends and family.

However, when Dr. Pia asked if Brennan trusted Emily, he admitted that he had reestablished trust. Emily then broke down in tears and noted that she wanted to make things right with him.
