As the third episode of “Orphan Black: Echoes” begins, Jules wakes up in a hospital bed, discovering that she has been in a coma for several weeks. Dr Pam Teller (Marnie McPhail) checks on her, and Jules expresses her desire to go home, only to realize she has no home to return to.

Payton Lewis (Tehya Silbermann) visits her, and Pam invites Payton to stay and support Jules during her rehabilitation. Pam reveals that Payton was the only friend who reached out during Jules’ coma.

Jules learns that her new foster family is scheduled to pick her up next week, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. As the episode fast forwards to the present, Jules is seen struggling with sadness at her new foster home.

The behavior of Jules’ new foster family raises suspicions almost immediately. They are not particularly friendly to her, maintaining a certain distance that feels cold.

Her foster parents seem overly concerned with her activities, constantly monitoring her and interfering in her personal life. Every time she tries to carve out some privacy or engage in activities that interest her, they are quick to intervene, often with flimsy excuses that do little to mask their true intentions.

They ask probing questions about her thoughts and feelings, but their interest seems more clinical than compassionate. As Episode 3 of “Orphan Black: Echoes” unfolds, Jules’ suspicions about her foster family deepen. She begins to notice inconsistencies in their behavior and stories, which make her increasingly uneasy.

It becomes increasingly apparent that Jules’ foster family, and perhaps even Dr Pam, are keeping significant secrets from her. They avoid discussing her past and quickly change the subject whenever she brings it up.

When Jules returns from her meeting with Lucy, she is met with a suspiciously warm welcome from her foster family. They are unusually attentive, offering her a glass of water and a pill they claim is her medicine given by Pam.

Jules’ foster father takes it a step further, insisting that she show him her tongue to prove that she actually took the pill. Despite her discomfort, she complies, knowing that defying them could lead to further scrutiny and suspicion.

Later on, Jules ends up throwing up the pill she was given by her foster family. It seems Jules believes they may be hiding something more sinister than she previously imagined.

It is possible that Jules and Pam’s foster family have malicious intentions towards her, considering the possibility that she is an “imprinted form” or clone. Their actions, such as giving her a pill and closely monitoring her, could be part of a larger plan to exploit her for further scientific studies or experiments.

Jules’ search for the truth about her past may unravel Pam’s criminal activities and the organization responsible for her creation. The organization’s motives for creating Jules and others like her could be linked to illegal or unethical practices, such as human experimentation, genetic manipulation or even weaponization.

Therefore, they may be actively trying to prevent her from discovering the truth about her past.

How can Lucy help Jules?

It seems that Jules now believes Lucy’s claim that they both came from the printers and are not real people. In Episode 3, Jules seeks out Lucy for advice and support, recognizing that Lucy may hold the key to unlocking the truth about their shared past.

Jules reveals that there is a drug that can induce vivid dream travel, suggesting that it can help them access buried memories and unlock the secrets of their origins.

It seems that Jules and Lucy may be able to help each other uncover their mysterious pasts. Together, they could unravel the secrets and find the answers they seek. Another possibility is that Jules is actually a younger version of Lucy from the past, somehow transported to the future. This theory would explain their similarity and the similarities in their experiences.

The organization may want to kill both Jules and Lucy because they could be seen as liabilities for their secretive science experiments. Killing them would ensure that they cannot reveal any information about the organization’s unethical practices or the truth about their creation.
