“Reug Reug” Oumar Kane Fight Under Heavyweight Kickboxing Rules at ONE Fight Night 23

Ahead of his encounter with ONE Heavyweight MMA World Champion Anatoly Malykhin in November, Oumar Kane is setting foot in the kickboxing category of the weight bracket – and his fight is unlikely to go all three rounds.

“Reug Reug” fights compatriot Boucher Ketchup in a monumental tie at ONE Fight Night 23: Eight vs. Rasulov on Prime Video this Friday, July 5, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Since arriving in ONE Championship, Kane has taken the MMA world by storm and wasted no time becoming a superstar in the land of giants.

The Senegalese sensation holds a 5-1 record in the world’s largest martial arts organization. His background in wrestling has served him well so far, but his ferocious striking power has made him a much more lethal weapon.

The 32-year-old is on the best run of his career with an impressive three-fight winning streak. His most prominent showing came last August at ONE Fight Night 13 against 14-time BJJ World Champion Marcus Almeida.

The streak put him in a favorable position to face Malykhin at ONE 169: Atlanta in November. But before he can get ahead, Ketchup will be in for a tough task this weekend.

The 34-year-old also made a name for himself in Senegalese wrestling before making the jump to kickboxing. The charismatic kicker took shots at his compatriot through social media, trying to lure “Reug Reug” into fire.

He got his wish at ONE Fight Night 23, where he could bring his foe’s wave of momentum to a sudden end with one punch live on American prime time.

Oumar Kane may have his hands full at ONE Fight Night 23, but his main goal comes on November 8 at ONE 169: Atlanta when he challenges three-weight ONE MMA World Champion Anatoly Malykhin for the heavyweight crown.

The pair square off inside Atlanta, Georgia’s State Farm Arena as ONE Championship returns to the United States for the third time in 18 months. And after the news of the matchup, “Reug Reug” explained his plans on Instagram.

Heavyweight clash! It’s time to expose this false champion,” Kane said.

The Senegalese star is riding a monumental three-fight winning streak into the contest. He grew with every outing he participated in ONE Championship. Malykhin has also shown tremendous firepower during his tenure.

So the collision of two immovable objects will have the eyes of the world on it this November.
