‘RHOSLC’ Star Monica Garcia Calls 911 After Ex Mike Fowler Slaps Her While Their Kids Watch

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: Mike Fowler, the ex-husband of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Season 4 star Monica Garcia, moved to another state after the TV star- reality has finalized her divorce.

Monica and Mike’s divorce came about when the reality star’s ex-husband slapped her in March 2021. According to a police report obtained by The Sun, Monica called the police after her husband slapped while their children were at home.

Three of their four children, Bri, West and Kendall, were home at the time. Monica’s daughters, West and Kendall, were asleep during the incident while Bre was awake and heard the assault and argument.

Monica was hiding in her bedroom when the cops arrived and “they could hear the woman yelling at him to get away from her,” according to the outlet. The couple reportedly went to dinner with their friends and argued about “some of the people she had been associated with.”

However, Monica and Mike’s argument turned into a violent fight when they returned home. After Mike slapped Monica, she immediately called 911 but her husband begged her to hang up.

Mike Fowler, Monica Garcia’s ex, arrested for domestic violence

Monica claims that “she was afraid of Michael and what he would do if she disobeyed him,” according to the report obtained by the outlet. However, after Monica’s claims, Mike was arrested and sent to a county jail for DVAS (domestic violence assault).

Mike was also charged with DVPC (domestic violence in the presence of a child) and ELDV (interrupting a communications device). Mike pleaded guilty to assault in court and was sentenced to 12 months probation and had to pay fines and fees totaling $1,070.

According to reports, Mike was also ordered to complete parenting classes, counseling sessions and 16 weeks of domestic violence anger management classes. However, Mike’s DVPC and ELDV charges were dismissed by the Utah court on March 15, 2021.

Monica Garcia files for divorce from Mike Fowler in 2023

Monica Garcia and Mike Fowler were married for about eight years after the court first denied her divorce filing in 2013. However, two years after the 2021 assault, Monica filed for divorce again on June 12 2023.

Although there were rumors that Monica and Mike divorced over the reality star’s 18-month affair with her ex-brother-in-law Jared Taylor. But the reality star later cleared the air and revealed she filed for divorce due to domestic abuse.

Monica finalized her divorce from Mike on October 24, 2023, and was granted sole legal and physical custody of her four daughters. Meanwhile, Mike was ordered to pay Monica $2,636 per month in child support and $4,000 per month in alimony.

Monica revealed during the first part of the ‘RHOSLC’ Season 4 reunion that she was kicked out of the cast trip to Bermuda and had to take the first flight back to her hometown after Heather Gay l has been revealed as the person behind the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease.

Monica is also embroiled in a complicated legal battle against Heather’s company, Beauty Lab + Laser, after the housewife allegedly failed to pay $2,000 for cosmetic procedures.
