Super Bowl 58: Barack Obama, Magic Johnson, Trae Young, others react to Patrick Mahomes leading Chiefs to victory

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs just won their second consecutive Super Bowl, and it looks like the sports world is ready to have a GOAT conversation.

Mahomes, now a three-time Super Bowl champion and Three-time Super Bowl MVP, said the Chiefs could finally be considered a dynasty. However, he cautioned that they are just getting started.

“Yeah, that’s the start of one,” Mahomes said. “We’re not done.”

The same can be said about him. The 28-year-old now has 15 total playoff wins, the most of any quarterback before the age of 30. That’s two more wins than Tom Brady’s 20-year-old, and the football journey ended with his record win. The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are tied for seven Super Bowls.

Mahomes’ achievements have not gone unnoticed by other top athletes or former US President Barack Obama, who congratulated the team for its performance under pressure.

Here are some other social media reactions after the Chiefs’ 25-22 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII:

Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young made some big statements about Mahomes and his future.

For those who missed the game, NBA legend Magic Johnson recounted what happened.

Others don’t have long to wait This Conversation Two-time Super Bowl champion Torey Smith has made his decision on the GOAT.

Smith is certainly not the only one. Chase Daniel, who played 14 years in the NFL, agrees that Mahomes has done enough to be considered the best ever.

New Orleans Saints safety Tyronn Mathieu, who won a Super Bowl as Mahomes’ teammate in 2019, was also certainly impressed.

NBA Champion Alex Caruso spoke of Mahomes “Legacy driivveeeee” and noted that he was influenced by all of Kansas City.

Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson was another athlete willing to call Mahomes the GOAT.

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III talked about how Mahomes always delivers, and also reminded everyone that Sunday’s achievement or Mahomes’ performance should not be taken for granted.

The former Heisman Trophy winner claims that Mahomes is already the second-best quarterback in NFL history after just six seasons in the league.

But perhaps one of the best reactions on social media came from New Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas, Travis Kelce’s doppelgänger. The big man celebrated the Super Bowl victory accordingly in a video shared by teammate Trey Murphy III.
