The upcoming American television series titled “Ted” is the prequel to Seth MacFarlane’s comedy films “Ted” (2012) and “Ted 2” (2015).

The series is scheduled to premiere on January 11, 2024 on Peacock at 6 p.m. PT.

What is the plot of “Ted”?

Set in 1993, the series depicts the beginnings of a sentient teddy bear named Ted. He lives with John Bennett and his family in Massachusetts. The prequel follows comical instances where Ted is forced to go to school with John.

The official synopsis reads: “It’s 1993 and Ted the Bear’s moment of glory has passed, leaving him to live with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, who lives in a Boston working-class home with his parents and his cousin. Ted may not be the best influence on John, but ultimately he’s willing to take risks to help his friend and family.

Max Burkholder plays central character John Bennett in the upcoming series. The role of John has previously been played by Mark Wahlberg, Colton Shires and Bretton Manley in “Ted.”

Other cast members include Alanna Ubach as Susan Bennett and Scott Grimes as Matty Bennett.
