The episode begins 16 years in the past in Brendok when the Jedi Masters, Sol, Indara (Carie Anne-Moss), Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo), and Torbin (Dean Charles-Chapman) search for a concentration of force called Vergence in Brendok.

Master Sun discovers life on Brendok in the form of Mother Koril (Margarita Levieva) and their children Mae and Osha. Master Sun sneaks into their place to discover witches or what the Jedi call the night sisters.

As the Jedi enter the coven, Torbin faces an illusion where Mother Aniseya (Jodie-Turner Smith) asks him if he wants to escape that planet. Indara asks Osha to take the test like she did in Episode 3 to buy time from Mother Aniseya after she has Torbin under a spell.

It turns out that testing Osha was never their plan and a clever scheme that Indara and Sun came up with to buy time even though Solo feels a connection with Osha and feels that she is in danger on that planet with the witches.

As Sun is adamant about taking Osha with him, the Coruscant denies permission. Torbin who took the blood test for Ame and Osha discovers that both Mae and Osha were artificially created as one but then split into one consciousness and two bodies which would be possible if there was a verge.

Torbin thinks the girls are proof of the edge and rushes to get the twin. Mother Koril instructs Mae to stop Osha from going while Mother Aniseya is ready to let Osha be a Jedi to the terror of the coven.

Mother Koril prepares for battle when Mae sets the diary on fire causing a huge explosion. As Master Sol and Torbin reach the coven, a showdown ensues where Sun kills Mother Aniseya and Mae watches this happen.

As the explosion becomes large, Koril takes over Kelnacca and he begins to fight Solo and Torbin. Indara intervenes and uses force to kill the witches on the planet. After Sol and Torbin survive with the help of Master Indara, Osha and Mae are in trouble where both are about to fall. Master Sun uses force to try to save them but has to choose between saving Osha and saving Mae, He decides to save Osha.

Indara asks Sun not to tell the council about the truth and to keep Osha’s dream of being a Jedi alive by telling them that Mae burned everything.

What to expect from “The Acolyte” Episode 8?

That episode dealt mainly with Master Sol’s past and now with the past and his intentions, Mae might become sympathetic towards him and try to help him with finding Osha and Qimir (Manny Jacinto).

Mae’s reaction might be hostile as well because she now knows that Master Sol had a choice between her and Osha and he chose Osha. It could lead to an even more aggressive Mae.

The upcoming episode is the final in the series and many questions are still unanswered about the show. The most important question is how the Sith was created and what he has to do with all this.

Furthermore, there is still much to answer about how Mae and Osha were created. This episode explains them being created through a verge and divided into two bodies having one consciousness. Does that explain their affinity for the dark and light?

The final episode must surely answer a lot of questions and we will sit down.

Episodes 1-7 of ‘The Acolyte’ are streaming on Disney+.
