Donald W. We’ve got another exciting American athletic matchup on the schedule as the UAB Blazers and Tulsa Golden Hurricanes tip off at the Reynolds Center on February 11th at 2:00 PM ET. UAB has insisted on making their last three contests complete nail-biters, posting a 2-1 record during that stretch of close contests.

It may have taken overtime to get the job done, but UAB finally got the result they were hoping for Thursday. They outshot the Owls 76-73. For those watching at home, it’s the closest win UAB has posted since January 2nd.

Multiple players put in solid performances to lead UAB to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yaksel Landborg, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds. Landborg has been on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he has now pulled down ten or more in the last four games played. Eric Gaines was another key contributor, scoring 16 points with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Golden Hurricane couldn’t handle the Mean Green on Wednesday and fell 68-55. The result shouldn’t come as a shock considering Tulsa has scored the fewest points all season.

PJ Hagerty put in a good effort for the losing team as he scored 20 points with five rebounds. He’s been hot lately, posting 20 or more points the last four times he’s played.

It was the Blazers’ eighth straight win at home, bringing their record to 15-8. Those good results were largely due to their offensive dominance in that stretch, as they averaged 82.6 points per game. As for the Golden Hurricanes, this is their second straight loss and drops their season record to 12-10.

Fans should be in for an exciting game on Sunday as UAB and the Golden Hurricane are currently one of the highest scoring teams in the league. UAB has had no problem putting up the scoring this season, averaging 77.3 points per game. However, Tulsa is not going to struggle in that department as they are averaging 76.7 points per game. With both teams able to rack up points so easily, the only question that remains is who can run the high score.

Looking ahead, UAB is expected to win a tight contest, barring any buzzer beaters. They may be worth a quick bet as they have covered the spread the last four times they have played.

According to the latest college basketball odds, UAB is a 3-point favorite against Tulsa.

Oddsmakers had a good feel for this line, as the game opened with the Blazers as 2.5-point favorites.
