UEFA Euro 2024 Match Preview, Odds Lineup, Live Streaming, and Head to Head

The third day of Group D of the UEFA Euro 2024 will end with an encounter between France and Poland. The match has little bearing on the qualification fate for either nation. Already qualified France will look to win and in the process also get the first place in the group, thus gaining a useful draw in the eighths. Les Bleus will be motivated by the fact that they won the previous two outings against Poland.

France’s recent form has reflected some signs of inconsistency with three wins and two draws in their last five games. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winners will be very unhappy with their display against the Dutch on matchday two. Didier Deschamps made some confusing tactical decisions that unfortunately didn’t work. However, the quality of France should prove to be more than enough for Poland.

As for Poland, their UEFA Euro 2024 journey is already over after the second match against Austria. The Poles greatly missed the presence of Robert Lewandowski, who was only fit for 34 minutes in the tournament. 2-1 and 3-1 defeats against the Netherlands and Austria respectively again confirmed Poland’s poor performances in an important international tournament.

France vs Poland: Likely groupings

For France, the biggest headache will be around the choice of captain, Kylian Mbappe. Reports in France have confirmed in recent days that Mbappe will start against the Poles. While many argue the need to play Real Madrid’s latest signing in group play, given the state of his nose, Didier Deschamps is aware that the French trail the Dutch in the group based on the number of goals scored. The nation will be in a better position to beat the statistics with the presence of their star forward, Kylian Mbappe.

Poland, on the other hand, will finally be able to hand Robert Lewandowski a start in the European championship. Bartosz Salamon is a doubt due to an injury in his finger. Coach, Michal Probierz will look to name an eleven including both young legs and experience. Poland’s biggest joy at the moment will be to exit the tournament while hampering France’s qualification journey.
