The father of siblings, Leif and Freydis, Erik the Red (Goran Višnjić), will be introduced in “Vikings: Valhalla”, Season 3.

Erik’s dark reputation precedes him, as was previously revealed in Season 1 as he was exiled from Iceland for his violent actions.

Leif described seeing his father’s savagery, implying Erik’s dangerous character, which will set the scene for a bigger adventure in Season 3 as it explores whether Erik the Red would cause additional disruption in his children’s lives.

The entry of Erik the Red will have a huge influence on Leif and Freydís. As we know from Season 1, Leif carries weight due to his father’s reputation for violence.

Erik’s visit could push Leif to face his history, the darkness within himself, and how he wishes to establish his own legacy.

Erik’s relationship with Freydis has received little attention in the show so far. It would be interesting to watch if she inherits her father’s brutality or rebels against his shadow.

Erik the Red’s debut on the show will be a significant turning point for Leif and Freydís, pushing them to confront their family lineage and role in the world.

Erik the Red is a significant figure in Viking history, known for his exploration and leadership.

According to Britannica, Erik the Red, also known as Erik Thorvaldsson, was born in Norway but moved to Iceland when his father, Thorvald, was exiled for murder.

Erik, like his father, was exiled from Iceland after murdering a neighbor.

During his three-year exile, he explored the western country first discovered by Gunnbjörn Ulfsson.

Erik, along with his family and companions, moved to Greenland, giving it a catchy name to entice future immigrants.

After his banishment period was over, Erik went to Iceland to recruit additional people for Greenland, eventually creating a colony with 2,000-3,000 individuals.
