Who is Caleb ‘Moze’ Smith? “The Bachelorette” star went from professional football to being part of the equation

ALBANY, NEW YORK: Another man from the Capital Region is set to compete on the 20th season of ABC’s dating competition series “The Bachelorette,” following Sean McLaughlin’s near-finalist last season. Caleb ”Moze” Smith, a 25-year-old resident of Albany, will compete for the love of Jenn Tran along with 28 other contestants.

Can an attractive man from New York who enjoys math take home this year’s “The Miss” final rose? Smith will compete for the love of Jenn Tran. Jenn, a 26-year-old medical assistant student from New Jersey, is the first Asian-American star on a spin-off season of “The Bachelor.”

Moze’s Bachelorette bio calls him Moze, a nickname he earned during his football days when he went by “Moze Dangerous.” Although there is not much information available about Moze, his Instagram account has a highlight reel of him playing football professionally.

After completing his studies at La Salle Institute in Troy, Moze joined the offensive line at Towson University in Maryland. Most recently, Moze participated in Indoor Football League competition as a wide receiver with the Iowa Barnstormers. Before joining the NFL, Kurt Warner was a player for the Barnstormers as well.

The father of “The Bachelorette” Season 21 star Caleb “Moze” Smith was a two-way lineman.

Moze, standing 6-1 and weighing 195 pounds, made his Indoor Football League (IFL) debut in 2023 with the Iowa Barnstormers. He played college football at Towson University, where over four years he appeared in 31 games, amassing 1,252 yards and scoring six touchdowns on 95 receptions for the Tigers.

Moze was named an All-CAA Third Team Wide Receiver during his senior year. Moze is not new to the sport; however, the 2023 season marked his first exposure to the indoor game.

Moze’s father, Rodney Smith, spent seven seasons in the 1990s as a double-minion lineman with the Albany Firebirds of the Arena Football League (AFL), where he played on both offense and defense. The older Smith worked at The Parsons Child and Family Center for about six years, helping the emotionally disturbed and abused children of Albany.
