Why Taylor Swift Wasn’t Allowed to See Travis Kelce the Night Before Super Bowl: Report

Taylor Swift returned to the United States on Saturday – ahead of the Super Bowl – but she didn’t rush to see her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

The pop icon, who is performing in Tokyo, Japan this weekend, chose to return to Los Angeles first.

It was a surprise move because she was expected to attend the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Sunday, but it may have been due to an alleged NFL ruling that prevents players from seeing their wives or girlfriends the night before a big game, TMZ reports.

Because of the alleged order, Swift spent Saturday night at her Los Angeles home and will travel to Sin City later today to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs.

The “Bad Blood” singer, 34, began her return to the United States after wrapping up her final Eras Tour concert in Japan on Saturday evening.

An hour after her show ended, reporters spied a minivan arriving at Haneda Airport where “someone went inside the gate area as four to five people with large black umbrellas blocked the person’s view.”

She had to travel across several time zones to make it back for Super Bowl LVIII, where she expected to sit in a VIP suite — with Kelce covering the tab for her parents, brother and his girlfriend, as well as Kelce’s parents, brother. and sister-in-law.

Since football season began, Swift has been a regular attendee at Cal’s games, enthusiastically cheering on the team.

However, due to her busy schedule, the athlete has only been able to make it to one of her concerts, in Argentina.

That will change after Sunday’s game when Kelce will officially be in the off-season and have plenty of time to travel, according to his mom, Donna Kelce.

“A lot of us are doing a lot of different things … I think there will be some touring, and maybe some podcasts or what have you in Philadelphia,” she told PEOPLE, referring to Travis’ “New Heights” podcast. Co-hosted with her brother Jason Kelce.

In December, the US Sun reported that the two-time Super Bowl champ had booked rooms at fancy hotels in France and Italy and made reservations at some of the country’s top restaurants.

An insider close to the football player – who went public with the Grammy winner in September – told the outlet, “He booked some very nice hotel suites and tables at great restaurants to take her on days off.”

“He wants to take her on romantic vacations to relax and explore nice cities and romantic European destinations together.”
