Why Travis Kelce Blowed Up Chiefs Coach Andy Reid During Super Bowl 2024

Only in the heat of battle!

There was no point in Travis Kelce yelling at head coach Andy Reid at the start of Sunday’s Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers — it was all part of the star’s competitive spirit, a source tells Page Six.

Kelce was visibly angry and frustrated after the Chiefs fumbled in the second quarter of an overtime win over San Francisco.

The 34-year-old star and boyfriend of Taylor Swift was seen on video screaming in Reid’s face – and even shoving a coach – as he tried to get back into the game after the turnover.

Teammate Jerick McKinnon also held back the hulking Kelce.

Onlookers bristled at Kelce’s actions, but a source dismissed any real animosity between the player and the coach.

“He’s just a passionate player and everyone is on edge. It’s the Super Bowl! But there was no wrong intention.

“He respects Coach Reid. It’s really just about the passion of the game. It was nothing serious,” the source tells Page Six.

After the game, Kelce brushed aside any talk of a clash with Reed.

“I’ll keep it between us,” Kelce told ESPN. “I was just telling him how much I love him.”

Kelsey and the Chiefs were right to be frustrated as they suffered an early loss to the favored 49ers.

But Kansas City fought back and secured its fourth Super Bowl title, with Calce leading the Chiefs with nine catches for 93 yards in a 25–22 overtime victory.

Kelce will now apparently celebrate his new championship with Swift and the crew he brought with him to the big game — including stars Blake Likely and Ice Spice.
