Guru Nanak Jayanti 2023: This year Kartik Purnima falls on November 27, marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of Sikhism. It is celebrated as Guru Parva and Prakash Parva.Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born on the day of Kartik Purnima in Talwandi (now Pakistan), a village on the banks of river Ravi. Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism and the first Guru of the Sikhs, is also called by his followers as Nanak, Nanak Dev Ji, Baba Nanak and Nanakshah.
