Rey Mysterio Was A Stunt Double In A Classic Horror Movie Before He Became A WWE Legend

Throughout the history of WWE, Rey Mysterio has had a significant impact on superstars. His unwavering devotion to it inspires many upcoming stars to take up wrestling. He has given the WWE Universe several memorable moments and occupies a legendary position within the company. Every week, Rey entertains the audience and upholds her legendary legacy.

During his stint in WCW, Mysterio gained notoriety like the man wearing the mask. He revealed a fascinating side of himself and is famous for having some of the greatest Wrestling matches of his career. During his career, as a Luchador, Rey gave several scandalous performances wearing a mask. The Biggest Man in the WWE also has plenty of accolades outside of the squared circle.

Given his superb athleticism and agility, anyone would be amazed to see the 5-foot-2-inch superstar perform crazy acrobatics and stunts during his matches. His skills were observed by several recruits in Hollywood when he acted in one of Freddy Krueger’s films. Many fans wouldn’t believe that Mysterio was acting as a stunt double for Krueger’s character because it wasn’t talked about much.

He acted in the Horror Action Movie “Freddy vs Jason” (2003) as a stunt double for Robert Englund. Not most of the fans know about his appearance, but it shows how versatile Mysterio is and how well he carries himself in terms of acting. In addition to acting in a Hollywood movie, Mysterio has been part of several professional wrestling documentaries for WWE and WCW.

Even though he may not be the most well-known figure in wrestling, former WWE star Shad Gaspard was instrumental in Marvel Studios’ incredibly successful standalone Black Panther movie. From being a caring father to acting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Gaspard has done it all. The former member of Cryme Tyme appeared in an uncredited appearance, replacing Winston Duke, the beloved actor who portrayed M’Baku, the leader of the gorilla tribe. Another huge superstar who acted in a Hollywood movie was the Wrestling Machine Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle readily accepted The Rock’s call when Michael Bay was looking for someone to play a small action role for 2013’s Pain & Gain. In a silent flashback, Angle plays a prison thug who gets beaten up by The Rock. Thanks to his enormous physique, Kevin Nash has acted in several films. He portrayed Super Shredder in the second Turtles movie, a prison guard who popped steroids in The Longest Yard, and a villain in The Punisher. In addition, despite lacking any dancing skills, he was cast as an experienced stripper Tarzan in the Magic Mike series.

The greatest Luchador has been dealing with family issues since 2022 when his son Dominik Mysterio betrayed him at Clash at the Castle in 2022. Since then, Rey has also seen many betrayals by his stablemates. He defeated his son in an iconic match at WrestleMania 39 but it wasn’t enough. Forming a Latin World Order, Rey had a bunch of guys watching his back.

Unfortunately, Santos Escobar betrayed the former Royal Rumble winner on an episode of SmackDown that led to his tag team match at WrestleMania 40. Rey joined forces with Andrade and faced the team of Escobar and Dominik. Thanks to Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson, Mysterio and Andrade picked up a win against the team. As of now, one of his close friends Carlito has also turned and betrayed Rey by joining forces with Dominik on RAW.

Only time will tell how things will turn out for the legendary superstar after facing a handful of betrayals in the past.
